My poor Bub.

Just wanted to leave a quick note tonight -- would love some thoughts and prayers for our sweet Boy. Nothing too serious, but he's in a whole lot of pain. We were with family tonight...kids were playing...long story short...our Bub got checked big time by a much older kiddo (by accident of course).

We soon realized it was serious, went to the ER and he has a fractured clavicle bone. Should heal in one to two weeks, but he is in a serious amount of pain. Our tough guy has never cried in his life like he has tonight. Momma and Dadda have cried a bit too...as you all know, it's so hard to see your baby (no matter the age) in that kind of pain.

Just wanted to let you all know in case I'm not able to post much this week. I hope that he'll be on the upswing soon, but there's no telling how he'll feel in the next few days. Take care all!!

  1. Oh, man. This Mummy wants to cry too. And I wasn't even there!

I hope he's feeling better very soon.

Sounds like it's "ice cream for dinner" time.

  2. So sorry to hear that. I hope he starts feeling better soon. How old is Bub? That breaks my heart. A good friend of mine's little boy broke his femur 2 weeks ago and is in a whole body cast. He is doing great though. Little dudes are resilient. He is in our prayers.

  4. Hi, first, I would like to say, so sorry about your little guy, I will keep him and you in my thoughts and prayers. When a little one is in pain, mommy is in pain.

second, this is the first time I've been to your blog, not sure how I ended up here, but I'm glad I did.

third, after I looked around, I love your style. My motto is thrifty is nifty.

last, thanks for the inspiration. I'll have to add you to my favorites so I can find you again.

  5. Thanks SO much ladies! He is almost 23 months, which is a good thing for this kind of injury I guess! Still has those supple bones. :)

  9. Hugs & kisses to the little one. We went to the ER so much when my kiddo was really little, that I was afraid child protective services would think we were abusive...but it was just dumb luck/accident prone stuff. I felt like we were there so much, they scanned our insurance card like they do those MVP cards at the grocery store. He'll be better before you know it....I'm betting by Friday! And congrats on your new gig!

  10. He looks like such a cute resilient guy! I'm sure he'll be good as new sooner than you think! I think a pint of Ben and Jerry's for the whole family will do you all some good!

  12. Aw man! I felt sorry for him (and you) and then I saw the picture of him and how young he is and felt so much worse. And I'm not even his mother. I know how you feel...we've been to emergency TOO many times for my liking. But they are active, adventurous girls and I'd prefer that.

  13. I know that sunken heart feeling that comes along with the injuries that happen to our kids...little Bub will be in our prayers too. When he gets through this broken clavicle, he'll be able to get through anuthing and have a great story to tell when he's older!

  15. Ouch!! Sorry to hear about that. When my niece was born, her clavicle broke "on the way out". Thankfully they DO heal pretty quickly. Lots of mommy and baby snuggling this week. :)

  24. Praying for your little guy...owie!!! I just got back into town and caught up on your blog...no one should have a laundry room that gorgeous. I so need some TLC to mine now that I have seen yours. Also a zillion people probably recommended this but...there is a little spray paint clamp you can put over your spray paint bottle so that it works like a sprayer. Way worth the $3-$3 if you ask me. Toodles.
