My heart is full

I truly cannot thank you enough for your incredible comments and emails over the weekend and today. I’m humbled and so grateful for of your prayers and thoughts. Each and every comment made my weekend.

The past few days have been filled with so much sadness, but SO MUCH joy and love as well. Our friends and family have gathered around us with real and virtual hugs – YOU included. It always amazes me how I can feel so much love at such a sad time – but that’s what it’s all about isn’t it? Celebrating how someone lived and realizing what we have to live for.

I don’t how else to express my gratitude but to just say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. I mean that – each and every one of you are a blessing to us.

Tonight, I leave you with one of the bouquets that the staff at hubby’s school sent:

photo

Beautiful right? But do you see the extra special additions? Garlic, avocado, chilies and peppers – some of my father-in-laws favorite ingredients! Absolutely unique and stunning. He brought so much joy to those he cooked for. PERFECT. :)

Thanks again so much. This weekend has inspired me many ways – I’ll show you one way tomorrow. :)

I am sorry to hear about your father in law. I almost commented when you first posted but hesitated. But then I thought, this is exactly what our bloggy world is... we are here to support one another even though we've never met MOST of the people we communicate with (Or, have met once while bargain shopping:))
It sounds like you have wonderful memories of him. I'm glad that you had the past few months with him. He sounds like a wonderful man who taught his family a lot.

I am truly sorry for your loss, and my prayers are with you all. Losing a parent is so hard as memories of your childhood come flooding back at you, at least that is how it was for me. What blesses you most is the thought that you have made recent memories that are instilled in your hearts. Glad that you had that time together to share your joy and love. Laura

  35. Sending my condolences and my very best for you and your family. Now.

But mostly in the weeks and years to come. After the flowers stop coming and after life must continue. Those are the times when hearts hurt the most, and no one is there to heal them. That's the time I pray that you will find peace.

  36. Hey Sarah,
I don't think that bouquet could have been any more perfect..how completely thoughtful of them. You should take those veggies and make one of his recipes with them...make the memories last longer. :) I will continue to keep your family in my prayers...it's so hard to lose someone..especially someone who leaves your family such a legacy. I hope your heart heals and your burden is replaced with peace.

    Love you lots
    Missy :)

  38. Dearest Sarah, I'm sorry not to have been here sooner to offer my deepest sympathies on this great loss to your family. Sometimes I get wrapped up so tightly in my own life that I just don't visit other bloggers as much as I should. But I'm here now and just want you to know that I am sending a huge hug and many warm wishes to you and your husband during this great time of loss.

The bouquet is one of the loveliest I have ever seen and how thoughtful that they remembered him with some of his favorite ingredients... So nice of them to have taken that special step in choosing the perfect arrangement.

Take care and I will be back soon.
    Hugs,
    Diane
