The home of House 214 Design

November 13, 2015

I'm sharing a newer blogger who caught my eye on Instagram. I have to tell you -- I fought Instagram for so long, but it's by far my favorite social media outlet now. It's a visual feast for this decor loving girl.

I've found so much inspiration there and Melinda's feed is one of them. She recently started up her blog at House 214 Design as well. I'm sharing a few photos of her home today -- I think you'll love her style as well!

Melinda recently shared her Thanksgiving table in her beautiful kitchen:

I love the drama of the black tablecloth-- you don't see that very often. So lovely. And those lights! I like that she repeated them over the table instead of a single chandelier -- what a great idea.

Because I'm all about kitchens lately, here's another shot of this pretty space:

You know I love that beadboard ceiling too. Such a classic kitchen that will never go out of style.

The rest of Melinda's house is more of the same -- simple and timeless design that works well with the feel of her home. Her fall mantel is so pretty:

This makes me miss a wood burning fireplace!

Goodness, I love her front door with the glass on top:

This is exactly what I want to do to our door but I haven't gotten the guts to have it done just yet (I want to add a window to our current door). Love her gray siding with the white trim too.

This bathroom is another one that shows how classic design choices come together to make a space that will stand the test of time:

Love that she incorporated the pretty pedestal sinks and some storage.

Melinda added some personal art in her living room -- I have a thing for maps!:

That coffee table though! That is gorgeous!

I'm pretty sure these mud room built ins are a recent addition to her home and my goodness -- they had me at that gray (and the light...and the stone floors…):

Such a beautiful home right? Love every bit!

You can see more of Melinda's home on her blog and be sure to check out her IG account for many more peeks into her house as well!

Have a GREAT weekend! I'll see you back here next week! :)

  1. My iPad pinged with a notification that I had a new blog post....then I saw your name and thought 'fantastic now I get to see your finished kitchen'. But instead it was someone else's lovely finished kitchen.
Come on already!! The wait is killing me 😉 Kidding, not kidding!

    1. I've been working all day every day to get it done. No one wants it finished more than me. :)

    2. I've really got no room to talk! My house is upside down just now. We're sleeping in the lounge as I work on our bedroom, our bathroom has only half the prep done, same in our guest bedroom and our other spare room is FULL of boxes waiting to be unpacked. I'm living in chaos and can't seem to get motivated. Living vicariously through other people's finished projects. X
