That doesn't sound right! Your table doesn't look taller than counter height! It also says it weighs 38lbs. Unless it's made of balsa wood, that can't possibly be correct. Would you mind sharing the actual dimensions?janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09709714721162851192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-87229052299510755292014-09-23T04:18:35.325-04:002014-09-23T04:18:35.325-04:00What a sleek finish! The simple design offers great...What a sleek finish! The simple design offers great potential to try different table place mats.
- Patrick TanAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15922238919535161910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-80020569647289259172014-09-22T08:37:43.446-04:002014-09-22T08:37:43.446-04:00I agree with the person who thinks a clear wax for...I agree with the person who thinks a clear wax for protection is a good choice. I loved the style so much that I bought it and spent many hours stripping the darn thing. (And the matching chairs- what a pain!) Anyway, I was wondering if the leaf has the pretty apron as well. Ours didn't have the apron and always looked kinda' funky when I put it in the table.SheilaG @ Plum Doodleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10581627279563855253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-19643240464045690372014-09-21T04:38:28.868-04:002014-09-21T04:38:28.868-04:00How lovely to get the table you want at last. IKEA 12 years ago, and when we moved, we marked out with masking tape on the floor to see what size table would be good in the space...... of course we chose the biggest - and of course it was too big!! Eventually had 9 inches cut off the width and it was perfect then. Now, after 12 years wear and tear, we want to update, and as this is a small room we don't want it dark. In the UK we can't get Miss Mustard Seed but I like her stuff. The White Wax sounds good, and perhaps a pop of colour for your (table) legs. I think I am going for scarlet for the legs on our table...... PS That anonymous poster who does not like your decor? Doesn't have to read your blog either, eh?!!!Mrs Mac.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13169786083907144694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-34464023882551717022014-09-20T14:26:09.330-04:002014-09-20T14:26:09.330-04:00I think it would be fabulous with a bright color l...I think it would be fabulous with a bright color like royal blue on the legs and apron, and a nice darkish stain on top.Mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17395513433949691382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-56531433409966192912014-09-19T21:15:50.809-04:002014-09-19T21:15:50.809-04:00I second this!I second this!Beth F.http://www.theluckylass.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-7274564605414395702014-09-19T17:08:32.781-04:002014-09-19T17:08:32.781-04:00I love it! It would go great with the new gray fireplace. You already have several gray painted areas so it's easy to hold the chair next to them to get an idea of what it would look like together. Really lets the wood tones shine through. I used the table for about 15 years with no issues and no water marks. I did wipe on more finish one time during this period. No sanding, no fumes, no high gloss and flaking like urethane. You should really test this on a scrap if you truly want the true wood tone look.carolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10724200343880545108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-7000438110844446072014-09-19T09:18:52.378-04:002014-09-19T09:18:52.378-04:00A few people have mentioned the green leg idea and...A few people have mentioned the green leg idea and it is growing on me!
