And it's spring, so it's about that time. I didn't get into garage sales until the past couple years. I've hosted one for many years, but really realized the joy of a great garage sale find last year.
My $15 chair in our bedroom is one of my favorites. I drove by this sale at least twice before I got out to really look at the chair, then drove by two more times to make sure it was still there. Went home to measure, and went back a third time, praying I would find it. Sad I know, but by then I had fallen in love with it!!:

You can even search by item to find sales selling what you are looking for. FAB!
If you are hosting a sale, you can list up to two months before the date (compare that to the newspaper!), add images of what you are selling and for a limited time, listing your sale is FREE. Oooeee, I love me some free!!
Go check out their site here. And if you live in Indiana and are having a sale this weekend, list that baby and I'll be stopping by. :)
That's a good site...also look on craigslist for g-sale listings, and estatesales.net!
ReplyDeleteI stopped by a yard sale today...nothing fab but I did get a VCR/DVD combo that I talked down to $15 from $20 for the playroom. Boooya!
ReplyDeletedoesn't work here in idaho. good idea though.

Our neighborhood garage sale is tomorrow...maybe I will find some goodies to decorate my craft room. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteam LOVING the "finds" -especially the little white cabinet. Thanks for stopping by & those window "treatments" hot glue baby! and only 7 dollars a yard! :-)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! I am so laughing- I think we are twins separated at birth- I just saw your laundry room post- yep mines yellow & black too- here's my link http://theecklife.blogspot.com/2008/08/laundrys-ready.html and I have a lamp in there too! love the feel it gives- makes me "want" to do laundry- oh I last week I found an awesome black & white damask ironing board cover-at TJMAxx.
ReplyDeleteGreat site. I have seen it on another site and will have to check it out a little closer.
ReplyDeleteLove your garage sale finds!
I am jonesin for a REALLY good yard sale. I really can not wait! Yay for yard sales!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't work here in Washington, either! Bummer!! Thanks for all of your great ideas! I feel so inspired. Now, if I could just harness your talent.......... (he, he)
ReplyDeleteSarah, I love your yardsale finds. I stopped at a few yardsales tonight after work. I got a bargain on some old tarished silverware. I cleaned it up and it's beautiful. It's miss matched. I really wanted the pie servers that were included. Gues what I paid. $1.00 yup!! $1.00
ReplyDeleteHave fun rummaging !!
I didn't know about that site. I am definitely going to check it out! I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can start garage saling. Some of my most favorite items in my house were either found on a curb or at a yard sale!
ReplyDeleteYay!
XOXO
Jen
I'm really new to your site and I LOVE it here. I can't get enough of your past posts and photos.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading about your fabulous make overs I have purchased some paint and made plans for some improvements at my home. I can visualize a coat of paint on a lot of my stuff!!
Thanks for taking lots of photos. I love seeing how you do things. :-)
I'll check out that website, I'd love to score some great treasures like yours!
ReplyDeleteLove the little cabinet! You got really lucky that the chair was still there--must have been meant to belong to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I love anywhere I can get a bargain! Yardsale, Goodwill, thrift stores, I am not particular.
ReplyDeleteI love that cabinet in your son's bathroom! How awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, I'm clicking over now... Hoping find my hubs a nice dresser at a garage sale this summer and MAYBE a patio set too... Fingers crossed!
Didi someone say--"get out of my way that's MY wicker chair!!" Yeaahh! for garage sales!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you use. I love yardsales too, but furniture is not found at ours too much. I'll check out that site though thanks.
ReplyDeleteI posted on garage sales this week too! (Great minds...) Come by and see my treasures. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cabinet in your son's bathroom..what a great idea! Looks like I'll be checking out garage sales and Goodwill tomorrow!! Thanks for sharing and I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, ANOTHER website for me to become addicted to! Since you love the Goodwill (and who doesn't?), have you checked out shopgoodwill.com. It's where you can bid on Goodwill stuff ONLINE, so you NEVER have to be parted from the Goodwill by time, space and open-for-business hours again!
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you're in MN this weekend, there are a ton of huge garage sales going on. I have the deets on my post today, or you can just Google them, too.
htiin the curbs is what my mom and I call it. we used to go all the time when I was younger and now i take my daughter. its great to find good deals and to also, spend time together.
ReplyDeleteYou can find some great deals at garage sales. I could kick myself for what I paid for a chair from Craigslist last week, when garage sales are starting to pick up now, and I may have found something similar for way less.
ReplyDeleteBIG QUESTION!!??
Please tell me what color that is on your bedroom wall. It looks like a dark green on my monitor. I am trying to pick a color for my bedroom, and this is the look I have in mind. Thank you!!!

I am hosting a garage sale next weekend, but I MUST know where in Indiana you live :) I had no idea you were a Midwesterner!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Thanks for garage sale link (I'll definitely check it out) AND I presented you with an award. Check out my blog (http://primnpurdy.blogspot.com) for more information.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely have to check out the Garage Sale Tracker. You are putting me in the mood for some shopping! Although I am staring out my window at a winter blizzard here in Colorado, so maybe no bargain hunting until next weekend. Bummer! Have a great weekend Sarah!!
ReplyDeleteCarrie
Wow --an online Garage Sale tracker? I am a happy woman. I love a bargain (and you have some really good ones!).
ReplyDeleteGoing to go check that site now, see what's on this weekend around New Jersey....
Cass
OOOh! I live IN! I'm not hosting a garage sale this weekend, though. Maybe later this summer. Hope to get to meet you someday. I've never heard of this site but I'll definetely be checking it out.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Pam
LOVE this! Hooray for garage sale season. I got an e-mail from this site a while back, and I think I ignored it. I better go check it out...sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I've been reading your blog for awhile but have never commented until today...I didn't realize you lived in Indiana! I do, too! I love all of your home decorating ideas. Your blog is too fun. I live in Greenwood. Are you around central Indiana?
ReplyDeleteOh I loooove, love, the little cabinet! Too cute! It's still a little cold for sales here, I mean, it's Michigan- it could snow in June.
ReplyDeleteBut they're coming, I can feel it in the air. And, I'll be ready. :)
Neat site! Thanks for sharing. I got into yard sales after my first daughter was born and I saw how she'd play with a brand new, $30 toy for about five minutes before moving onto something new. I find the best stuff at yard sales!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the site! I'm really not a paper reader - I would rather drive around forever with a cup of coffee and a prayer...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you're going to do with the extra room! BYW - I'm posting my master bath redo on Monday if you would like to see the other pictures, come on over!
What a great site! I will be checking it out.
ReplyDeletei too am just now learning the awesomeness of garage sales but I sure cant wait to get the ball going. my problem is deciding on Saturday mornings to hit the garage sale first or the market, decisions decisions!!

I love garage sales. Our town has a big one once a year and it's this weekend!! So excited:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link! I always have been overwhelmed trying to find a good guide for them.
ReplyDeleteGotta love the deals you can find at garage sales, especially with the current economy :)
ReplyDeleteThat site doesn't work in my area :( If you like that site though you will LOVE this one that I use! it's http://gsalr.com/ You can plan your trip and get directions from one sale to the next! Great if you are going somewhere you don't know well. Mom and I used it last weekend... only made it to two sales though lol we got a late start. Didn't find anything mentionable ;)
