Our seats were AWESOME, thanks to a former coworker of my sister/second cousin of my best friend (long story). We were right behind the sound stage. Thank God I'm 11 feet tall:

My hawty hawt shoes:

(Yes. I have blisters.)
And a self portrait with the massive crowd behind us!!

Later in the show, the lights go down and all the sudden the guys are all spread out in the crowd. Donnie is immediately to our right, about five feet away. My sis and BF are over there in two seconds. I turn around and Joe is to my left, about five feet away as well. The seas parted and crazed
I was frozen. I couldn't decide. (Ladies, they were both smokin' hot. Smokin'.) I look over to the right at Donnie and there's this cute chick dancing with him, and I'm like, oh, she's cute! Oh, I hate her. Oh, she's cute though. But oh wait, look, there's Joe! Right there. Geez, that girl is still dancing with Donnie! I still don't know which way to go. Frozen.
I look over again...it hits me....
MY SISTER IS DANCING WITH DONNIE WAHLBERG. Wait. What? MY SISTER IS DANCING WITH DONNIE WAHLBERG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was the most surreal experience of my life. I run over there, get on a chair and am about three feet from Donnie, eye level....
And I don't have a camera. Nothing. My phone had long died, I didn't bring in my camera, I had no idea where the other cameras were. I could have gotten the most amazing pictures of Joe and Donnie if I had one. I am hating myself right now!!
I don't even know if they get twitters from fans, but we thought it was so odd that he ended up right next to us. :) It was fantastic. My best friend has been a Donnie fan for 20 years and held his hand. We felt like we were 15 again, only better. :) It was the best concert I've ever been to, hands down. There are only about ten more concerts -- if you are not sure about going -- you MUST. You won't regret it. They know how to entertain!!
Thanks for letting me gush!! I feel like you are all my friends, so I had to share the night with you! And a big thanks to those of you who could care less about former teeny boppers for putting up with me lately. I swear, no more about it -- back to painting, crafting, decorating....I promise. :)
How funny! I love your excitement and enthusiasm over it all! Yay! Glad you had such a great time. I'm sure Donnie and Joe will never be the same again. ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a total blast! I am completely jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous!
ReplyDeleteAnd where did you get those shoes?? Love them.
So you had fun? haha!
ReplyDeleteI was a big NKOTB fan back in the day. The posters, the shirts, the notebooks....I had it all.
Never been to a concert though : (
C-UUUUTE shoes girlfriend.
Jealous!! I remember going to NKOTB when I was like 11? First concert and I will always remember it! What an awesome experience for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm soooooooo jealous! Glad you had a good time though.
ReplyDeleteOh PLEASE don't stop giving us your real self! The crafts, spray paint and makeovers are just one part of ya'! I like to see this other stuff too!
ReplyDeleteHangin' Tough wit-cha...
Noooo effin' way.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe you, and since there is no proof I certainly don't believe you. ;)
Ohhh myyyy..Lucky!
How awesome is that?
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you!
So glad that you had such a great time!
ReplyDeleteThat story is awesome! That sucks your phone died and you didn't have a camera! BTW I LOVE those shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! I'm glad you guys had an all out fantastic night! Now you can die!! Right? :)
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great story! I would be hate'n myself for not being to get a pic of the boys too ;( At least you will have your memorys. I have been a NKOTB fan since they first came out....a looooooong time ago. I've taken many a mean jokes about it too, but I don't care.
ReplyDeleteBTW, your BFF's hair-do is so stinking cute! Makes me want to go get all my cute off and dyed blonde!
Glad you had fun.
Awesome! I've been to two since their reunion and they were defintely the best concerts I've been to! The first one the seats weren't great but the second was 10th row. My cousin just went and paid the $500 to do the meet and greet and had front row tickets!
ReplyDeleteHILARIOUS! Hands down, hilarious! NKOB = heartthrobs. I was totally in love with them when I was just a wee little girl.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the story! I'm still laughing...
You so should've danced with Joey!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely heart NKOTB and your re-cap of the concert. Don't worry, I have a "Cover Girl" tank and weare it with pride!!
ReplyDeleteAll the crafting is too cute, but hot shoes & hot boys (love me some Donnie) take the cake!
Yay! I'm so glad you had an awesome time! When my sisters and I went a few months ago, they were able to touch the guys as they ran out into the audience. I could reach over the girl in front of me...blah. We did get some awesome pics with the Jabbawockeez, though! (Did they open for NKOTB at your concert?)
ReplyDeleteThis has totally made my week:
ReplyDelete"MY SISTER IS DANCING WITH DONNIE WAHLBERG. Wait. What? MY SISTER IS DANCING WITH DONNIE WAHLBERG!"
Thanks! Totally jealous!:)
I absolutely LOVED NKOTB had all the proper stuff. I'm glad to hear they are as fabulous now as they once were. Glad you had a nice time.
ReplyDeleteYour excitement is palpable and it's the day after!
ReplyDeleteOh, how much fun! I saw them twice in concert when I was in high school. I would love to see them again. I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago at a Keith Urban concert. We had very mediocre seats, but with a little finesse, I ended up front row, center stage....with no camera. I could reach out and touch Keith, but I didn't have a camera. I thought a camera would be a waste with our bad seats, so I didn't bother bringing it. Oh well, at least the experience will live in your mind forever. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love how Jared the subway guy was all incognito with his glasses and hat. ;)
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOO jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteGet out! Joey and Jordan were my favorites, so I would have run to Joe. : )
ReplyDeleteLOVE that you love NKOTB! :) Such a riot! LOVE LOVE LOVE your shoes....
ReplyDeleteGlad you had SO much fun! Oh to be a kid again!....
Sounds like you had a GREAT time! I'd be just as crazy as you if it was Marky Mark. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour post made my day! I LOVE LOVE LOVE NKOTB!!! I went to my
ReplyDelete5th concert last fall and would LOVE to go again. Joe is my favorite and I would probably do the exact same as you...freeze! I did get a great video of Joe pointing at me (I was the only one who brought a poster) and I will cherish it forever!!! It is on my blog November 13th post. Love it!
Kim
Glad you had a great time! It is great to relive parts of our childhood again! I love your new profile pic...so cute!! Thanks for sharing your fun evening!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
~Victoria~
How fuuuuunnnnn! :)
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! Loved all the cute photos. I hope you joined in on the dancing with Donnie. Sweet.
So glad you had fun! How exciting. And I just had to say, Girl, you look so stinkin' hot in your photos from the concert!! Just thought you'd like to know. And those shoes are to die for!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! SO exciting! Shame on you for not bringing your camera!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a chance in a lifetime!!
Thanks for sharing!
But wait?! Where's the picture of the new outfit? I've been waiting to see it since you posted about it!
ReplyDeleteI am so stinkin' JEALOUS!!! My mom, sister and I had tickets for the end of May in Birmingham, AL and the concert was canceled! ;( It would have been my 4th NKOTB concert. I would have melted had I seen them up close... and passed on to Glory had I danced with Donnie (he's my fav)! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you. And last but not least, I love your concert shoes! God bless you girl, Sarah :D
ReplyDeleteI went to Sat night concert in cincy and had a blast too! Saw donnie at the afterparty and was less than 10 feet from him. Glad I'm not the only fan! I took 300 pics but my iphone didn't take very good ones
ReplyDeleteDid you watch to see what Jared ate during the concert?
ReplyDeleteGirl, how could you NOT have your camera? Seriously! :)
ReplyDeleteSo awesome that you had Joe and Donnie so close. What I wouldn't give to see them in St Louis Weds night!!
this made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteit was fate no doubt.
glad you had a blasty blast!
This is hilarious! Glad you had a blast! And your SHOES.... LOVE THEM!
ReplyDeleteYou shoes were hawt!! ;) Sounds like an amazing time...how cool that you all rented a limo! I would have picked Joe. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny..you crack me up every day! I love the new profile pic of you too! So cute!
ReplyDeleteOh Honey............that made me feel REALLY, REALLY old........I'm from the Beatles era.....you know....at the beginning? Ed Sullivan?? Oh, of course you don't know Ed Sullivan! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself and it was a great read!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Spencer
LOL! That's great!
ReplyDeleteI saw NKOTB waaay back when I was 15 yrs old! I'm more than a little jealous that you got to see them again!
Glad you had a great time!
Lalalalalala TONIGHT! lol. I was only like 5 when these guys were big, but I remember every single song bc my big sis. lol! Your so lucky! and hilarious. But it's ok.. i still get very excited when I hear step by step. lol.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has been a longtime Jordan fan (always had to sleep on his picture on her pillowcase). She saw them in Boston last week and Joey was directly in front of her, dancing on a small stage. And now that Joey is all grown up, I think she might now think that Joey has "the right stuff", although I don't think she'd kick Jordan out of bed for cold feet or anything . . .
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time!
Oh, the NK memories are flooding back :)!! I loved them back when, went to a concert when I was 14! And I couldn't believe when I saw their Summertime video for the first time and Hubby said I was blushing and had googly eyes at the TV!!! LOL!! I guess those guys will always make our generation feel that way:)! Glad you had such an amazing time!
ReplyDeleteOMH, OMH, Oh. My. HECK!!! I am getting all giddy just reading about it! 1 week from Saturday for me!
ReplyDeleteI CANNOT wait! I am beyond excited...thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing the joy!
So glad you had a blast...I am so jealous of the "Joey proximity" that you shared! He is my love.
OMG, I AM SO JEALOUS!! I was head-over-heels in love with Joey! Those blue eyes sucked me in every time! I got to see them once when I was about 9 or 10 and I want to go so bad now, but my husband just doesn't get it. Go figure!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I sure wish you did get a close-up of Joey, that's a shame!
O.M.Freakin'.G!!! I can tell you're still floating on air! You made it seem like we were all there with you girl! I know how you feel not getting any pic's, (how heartbreaking), as back in the early '90's I got pulled up on stage with the "Temptations" in Hawaii and got to sing "My Girl" with them and have NOTHING BUT amazing memories to show for it! But YOU girl also have some rockin' photos of great shoes AND great hair! I'm so happy for you my friend... keep these memories close to your heart forever!!!!! Thanks for sharing your amazing night with us all! Jules :)
ReplyDeleteYOUR SISTER DANCED WITH DONNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Freaken way! That stuff ONLY happens when you have no camera. I for some reason got really excited over your post, I feel like I was there. You can see the excitment, glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute! I'm glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE those shoes!
So glad you had such an incredible time! And the pictures you got were fantastic--I love the one you put in your profile. You guys look hot--and hot! And that makes for great pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt was great of you to "gush" about this here--you know we'd all be wondering about the concert since you've mentioned it a time or two. Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteWhat a blast! My BFF's daughter loved them and went to their concert in Boston--said it was better than when she was a kid. I just love doing the same thing with my girlfriends when we see my old teen idols (Osmonds). Why grow up? I'd rather smile for 3 hours!! Thanks for sharing your story and photos!
ReplyDeleteThis post was really fun! Love your cute shoes!!! I'm glad you had such a fun time. You're very lucky to be photogenic!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you had fun and I am SO JEALOUS!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of you guys are SO CUTE! And you and your sister could be twins!
That is so awesome that you got to go!!! I would love to go with some girlfriends! My best friend and I stood in line when we were 13 to meet them at a music store for 3 hours to find out they weren't coming...we met Tommy Page instead. We tried to act like he was cool, but it was SO not the same for us!
ReplyDeleteRegret. My regret just keeps getting deeper and deeper. They were here. in SLC. Less than 20 minutes from the new house that I moved into. I was being cheap and decided not to get tickets. THEN the day of the concert dh asked if I was sure I wasn't going. He heard there were still some tickets. I was psychotic and still said no. Every time I hear a report about a fantastic NKOTB concert I sink deeper into regret. At least I had a splendid time at their concert I went to 15 yrs ago. I came home blissfully hoarse after that.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a fabulous time. It sounds utterly thrilling. I would have been a gaping frozen girl too.
My sister has gone to two of their concerts in the recent past. Glad you had such a blast. I'm more of a Mark Wahlberg fan myself.
ReplyDeleteTeehee, I could just feel your excitement reading this post. I never got to see NKs, not when I was a tween and not now. I think I need to go experience it finally. Sounds like you had a great time!!
ReplyDelete~Michelle
OMG, sooooo jealous! I think Donnie was my fave back then, too. You guys looked great, sounds like you had a blast!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you all had an awesome time :) I so love going to shows - never had an experience that good at a show, though. Hopefully I will in October when I go to see Kings of Leon (for the 3rd time this year).
ReplyDeleteWhy was jared the the Subway guy there? He was sitting next to another dude in your pic? I could understand if he was with his wife...seriously weird.
ReplyDeleteI know of zero male, NKOTB fans...LOL!
Donnie must get around because everyone I know who is a NKOTB fan has a personal Donnie story to tell. Funny!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is an amazing bird cage mansion. Great finds. I gave you an award on my blog: http://delightfuldwelling.wordpress.com/2009/07/02/its-great-to-be-a-blogger/
ReplyDeleteHi! A friend of mine, who follows your blog just sent me your nkotb post! I was at this same concert...on the lawn - but I snuck in my telephoto lens!! I am a photographer, and have a website that I posted the best of the best images I shot that night (187!) If you'd like to see them, just go to www.AngelaWrightPhoto.com and click on client proofing - then enter: nkotb for the password. I am all about sharing these photos with anyone who is a fan :) My friends that we went with insisted that I post them all to Facebook - but there are too many - and on my webpage, they are MUCH bigger.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time with great seats! I am a converted fan...it was a great show!
Take care,
Angela Wright
I am so jealous. It's funny how all the girls look like they are 30-ish. :)
ReplyDeleteI went to a NKOTB concert a couple of months ago - I'm glad to see a fellow fan (and someone who helps me with great decor ideas as well).
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny and a fun post to read! I totally get you! I luuuurve NKOTB, too. They were my first real concert... I was 16 in Germany. LOL!
ReplyDelete:)
Inky Smiles!
Erin
wasn't it wonderful?!
ReplyDeleteI went to the show in Atlanta...
LOVED IT!
So worth the wait!
How about Donnie and Joe even went to Waffle House afterwards and served up some food!
LOL!
I LOVE this post!! So envious! NKOTB always brings fond memories of the summer my BFF and I had to mow lawns to pay for the phone bill. We didn't realize the numbers listed in the back of magazines(like "Teen Beat") to hear all about your favorite stars were 1-900 numbers. We just knew we needed to call everyday and see what NKOTB was up to :)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog while Googling decor blogs. Here I am having a look through the site and stumble upon this entry! So fun! Thought I'd share a couple NKOTB entries of my own with you:

I've been to six of their shows (in 1989, 2008, two in 2009 and two in 2011), so I can definitely relate ;)
