Hello all! Whew…it’s been an insane couple of days. Lots going on (good and not so good) including news yesterday that we need a brand new (read: not cheap) air conditioning unit and $1000 in car repairs. Niiice.
I’ve started an impromptu redo on a room in our home and I LOVE how it’s turning out…but for now it’s a mess. I’m in full “in between” mode around here -- doors off the hinges, wire shelving everywhere, pictures and frames laying all over the place. I kind of got ahead of myself. :)
Add to that a (long time coming) night out with my hubby and our friends tonight, and I’ve just plain ran out of time in the day! I hope to make some progress tomorrow – you know, while they’re installing the new air conditioning unit. Fabulous. :) I’ll share the start of the redo tomorrow.
I finally added the name of the beautiful fabric I used on our kitchen window to my post from Monday – I also found the living room fabric name too! Check it out here (at the bottom of that post) for all the info.
I’ll leave you tonight with one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. This is my how my brain operates lately:
“Whoa…he’s a freak.” My favorite line. And I love how his eyes glaze over when he gets an email. :)
(If you know the name of this comic, let me know so I can credit it!) :)
Good night! See you tomorrow!
Oh, that comic is unfortunately hitting close to home. Pretty funny:)
ReplyDeleteIt is NOT even funny how much that comic is my life. Spot. on. Hilarious! Sorry about the air conditioner, but you'll be SOOO glad you have it in a couple of months, eh?
ReplyDeleteHaha, it's funny how much that's not even a joke! Sad but true :).
ReplyDeleteSadly, that comic is probably the best resume I could ever have.
ReplyDeleteIt's Pearls before Swine by Stephen Pastis, btw. He's a hilarious guy who quit working as a lawyer to pursue his dream as a comic strip..umm...guy. He's got a very touching story about driving hours to stalk Charles Schultz to get some advice.
Ok, I'm a nerd. :)

I just read all the comments and they took the words right out of my mouth, er....hands. ;) That was AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious and eerily true! I must repost this. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteSo Funny! I can relate waaayy too much!
ReplyDeleteooohhh...that comic is funny! I should put it on facebook. Oh look, I have a friend request. =-)
ReplyDeleteNow, that was very funny and I can totally relate to.

Cute comic. And sorry about the a/c unit - I know you're finally debt free, aren't you glad? It's unexpected expenses like this that can sometimes take you over the edge.
ReplyDeleteLove the comic! So sorry about the AC and the car. We are right there with ya. Just when we thought we were getting ahead on projects our master shower leaked (again!) and is awaiting the tile guy and plumber to fix next week. And, all 4 of our vehicles have been either backed into or rear ended since January, two in the past 3 weeks! 3 of the 4 are being taken care of by the other person's insurance, but the other will have to wait (someone at the university backed into our oldest's but never said a word or left a note!). When it rains it pours, huh? Can't wait to see what you've been up to!
ReplyDeleteLOL--yeah---that comic is cute~
ReplyDeleteI might have that glossy eyed look right now....
LOL
That comic made me laugh out loud!!! That's what happens to me at night when I say I'm going to put everything away, shut the computer down, and go to bed. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the car and AC. :) When it rains, it pours!
Heehee, I have the feeling that comic strip applies to more than you :-) I'm the same way. So sorry to hear that you've been hit with so much all at once. Praying that by some miracle your estimates were wrong & they charge you less! :-) Take care!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a hysterical comic strip. I was so disappointed when it was taken out of our local paper. I actually posted that one on my bulletin board.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the AC and car repairs.
The name of the comic strip is Pearls before Swine. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO me - especially since I *do* need to update my resume! LOL
As a new blogger, I thought this one was pretty funny...

The comic is Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis. It is one of my very favorites. He has a blog that is really funny too. And his Rat character has a twitter account. Check them out. They make you smile on days when you get bad news :(
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon cracked me up! I work from home and that's exactly my work day when I need to try finish a spreadsheet or do other boring work task. So distracted!
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE to look for a Pearls Before Swine comic book while thrifting! This is right up there with the quality of The Far Side. Anything for a chuckle. Love your blog, don't ever stop. Even if it's the crummy things like air conditioner costs and repair bills.
ReplyDeleteSarah - I can totally empathize with your "Murphys"!!! We paid off the last of our debt (except the house) in November and since then we've had the following Murphys: new transmission in hubs Jeep - $700; purchase "new" car for hubs - $5000; vet bills & cat put to sleep - $200; engine blew in my car - $5600; garage door crumpled - $1300; kidney stone surgery for hubs - $500 (so far). I feel your pain, sista!! And will say a prayer for your family's finances... :-)
ReplyDeleteDead A/C on top of car repairs? Ouch! I thought those things only happened to me. Doesn't it feel good to be debt free so you can roll with the punches a little easier?
ReplyDeleteHahaha - well you go and enjoy yourself. I love that comic strip. Wish I knew what it was. But it sure represents me.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Emily
that's too funny.....i'm gonna go google myself and check my email :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Ok, I have a suggestion..........
ReplyDeleteStop.
Sit (doesn't matter where).
Close your eyes.
Take a slow deep breath.
Exhale very slowly.......repeat ten times.
Think of three things in your life that you are grateful for.
Picture them in your mind.
Say Thank You!
Repeat as needed.
It works for me when I feel overwhelmed. Seems almost too simplistic but there is something about thanking Him for what you love that can be very soothing.
Re: "The Pearls".......I must not have read the paper that day & missed that one..... I would have remembered it as I would have recognized myself immediately!! Thanks for sharing it!! Take care, VBg
lol, SO me too! I can't even walk from room to room without getting sidetracked and completely forgetting what I meant to get in the first place!
ReplyDeleteOhhh! Sorry about the AC and the Car~ Dave says its always going to rain, just a matter of when! I know you'll be able to get through this storm : ) Can't wait to see the progress pics! Love you blog
ReplyDeleteLOL - the comic strip is hyserical - though it hit way to close to home.
ReplyDeleteI have ADD (but hubby calls it Shiny Object Syndrome) and a simple e-ail is all it take some days to throw off your entire schedule.
Can Totally relate. Can't wait to see all your projects...Just glad I'm not the only one that sometimes gets their plate too full. With me it happens more often than not.

ReplyDeletei LOVE that comic! just brightened my day!!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya on the "running out of time in a day" thing, as evidenced my be just getting to this post today! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think if you ask my husband he'd agree that comic illustrates me EVERY TIME I get to the computer! It can never be for just that ONE thing, can it? :o
I know I'm awfully late getting a comment in on this, but I'm betting that if you love Pearls Before Wine, you'd also love Sheldon. Give it a look!
