It's been a long process ;). We live in the front street-level condo in a not-so-nice neighborhood, and our front room gets like zero light if we have the blinds closed all the time like we do. The shower/tub had a window in it, and regardless of the fact that no one could see through the window since it was up high, I didn't like the lack of privacy - so I put frosted Contact paper over the whole thing. Problem solved! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has tried this :-)katyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17438249961844875812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-36946468197225576322013-02-05T02:26:26.327-05:002013-02-05T02:26:26.327-05:00That's a very clever idea--thank you for shari...That's a very clever idea--thank you for sharing it with us!Athena at Minervas Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18429848111243702963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-71933968348573494412013-02-03T16:43:28.199-05:002013-02-03T16:43:28.199-05:00What a great and simple way to gain a little priva...What a great and simple way to gain a little privacy and let in the sunlight at the same time!lynn cockrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16250601457878656085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-77173072564560831352013-02-03T09:51:08.745-05:002013-02-03T09:51:08.745-05:00Great idea! I have had some window film in my cart at amazon for a year, but it would take two rolls $60! to do our large window in the bathroom, so we have kept the light blocking mini-blind. I never thought that clear contact paper would only be semi-transparent and I wouldn't have thought of using the white bars to hide the seams. So I ran right out to Target yesterday and it looks awesome! I checked it last night from outside with the light on and you can only see shadows, so it is perfect and the bathroom is so nice and bright now!Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16729376438855363384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7781670590071996754.post-33383971151560665132013-02-01T22:14:14.295-05:002013-02-01T22:14:14.295-05:00I also have a master bathroom window that face the...I also have a master bathroom window that face the neighbors. I got tired of the curtain flying very time the door was opened or closed or the curtain getting closed in the door.<br />Since the window is so large and a very visible part of the kitchen, I took the leap with the Martha Stewart window film in the ricepaper finish. It's glorified contact paper, but it has a very pretty finish and cost me under $20. I had blinds on it just closed always for the longest time, but last year when we remodeled that bathroom I decided I wanted nothing on the window. So we used window frost spray. Our window is divided like yours, into...eight squares, we sprayed the bottom six, leaving the top two open to let it extra light. Those top ones are too tall to see me through unless maybe you're in an airplane with super good binoculars.
