My Honest Review of the Printed Loloi Rugs in Our Home

October 30, 2025

My honest review of affordable Loloi low pile area rugs.

Over the years I've slowly be switching our rugs around the house to these thinner, low pile options. Not only are they incredibly beautiful with endless vintage look design options, but they are the most durable I've found.

I'm a fan obviously, but I'm going to share my honest pros and cons of these affordable rugs with you so you can decide if they are for you!

I was first drawn to these rugs because of the gorgeous pattern and color options:

And in comparison to more traditional higher pile rugs, they are incredibly affordable.

Let's talk about the positives first!

1. Durability and easy cleaning

When I unpacked my first Loloi rug, I was surprised by how thin they are. Unlike high pile versions, these are digitally printed, not woven.

I was skeptical at first, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love!

You'd think since the design is printed, the color and design would wear off over time. I can attest that this does not happen.

It probably helps that the designs are made to look like worn, vintage rugs. We've had our living room rug for more than six years and it still looks brand new:

Our family room rug is the Layla charcoal rug in a 9x12 size. The colors are just beautiful -- navy, burgundy, brown and cream that go so well with our wood coffee table and dark fireplace.

Because there is very little texture, they are incredibly easy to clean. I use my awesome carpet cleaner on them every few months and they dry so fast

There's no stinky smell as the rug is drying either. This is where that lightweight design helps:

The detailed rug prints also help to hide spills and stains!
Because these are so durable and easy to clean, they're perfect for high traffic areas.

We've had this one in our entryway for years and it still looks like the day we bought it:

These rugs are also great under a kitchen or dining table. I've tried thicker pile rugs in our dining room, but they would get so dirty because of all the foot traffic through our back door.

Now at least it always looks great, even if it isn't pristine!:

Also, pet hair or dirt can't really settle into them, unlike higher pile versions.

Don't tell anybody, but I throw our kitchen runner into the wash occasionally. I don't think mine is meant to be washable, but it holds up fine on a delicate cycle.

Because these low pile rugs are flat, they are they are the perfect rug if you have pets in the house. We have three cats and a dog, and we are always cleaning up something

Even sharp claws aren't an issue. We've had zero damage, even with cats and dogs zooming around the house.

They would be great if you have babies or toddlers crawling around!

2. Design, color options and comfort

This is where this brand really shines! I can't even fathom a guess at how many different design options are available.

Loloi partners with so many of my favorite designers -- they've collaborated with Amber Lewis, Jeremiah Brent, Joanna Gaines and even Rifle Paper Co.

The color schemes and prints are endless. I can promise you'll find one to work in your space, no matter what you're working with.

My favorite part about these printed rugs is that they are colorful, but also subdued. There are so many beautiful warm tones to pull from, but they aren't loud and obnoxious:

Plus, I love that so many of the designs have the warmth of a vintage rug and look old:

They give the room character and a lived in look, which is always my goal:

Although the printed rugs are thin, the texture is very soft. They feel wonderful under bare feet. These polyester pile rugs have a comfy, slightly velvety feel.

They would be GREAT for a playroom or nursery -- plenty soft for baby but oh-so-easy to clean.

Side note -- they are shipped rolled, not folded. No creases to try to work out, just unroll and enjoy!

3. Affordability

I've tried similar looks over the years, but keep coming back to this brand over and over! It's hard to beat the price for such a great product.

Because they are digitally printed, the rugs are not nearly as expensive as traditional hand knotted or wool rugs.

A high pile 9x12 rug could easily cost upwards of a thousand bucks nowadays. Ours was less than $300 for that size:

They offer a TON of size options in each design as well. You can buy Loloi rugs on Amazon and browse all of their collections at your leisure.

I love this antique/moss version so much, I have it in both our bedroom and my office:

If you have green or blue accents in your home, this one would fit in beautifully!

Here's a rundown of the pros and cons of these affordable rugs...

Pros of the low-pile Loloi rugs:

  • So durable! Great for high traffic areas and perfect for a household with pets or kids.
  • Easy to clean. Vacuuming is a breeze and even after cleaning with carpet cleaner, they dry incredibly fast. Some of their options can even be placed in the washing machine
  • The designs and colors are endless! So many gorgeous prints that would elevate the look of any home.
  • The texture is minimal, but very soft underfoot. These rugs are not rough or scratchy.
  • Cost! They are by far the most affordable designer rugs I've found. You'll pay more at HomeGoods!

Cons of the low-pile Loloi rugs:

  • Because there is little texture, these rugs may take some getting used to. If you prefer a thick, luxurious rug, they are not for you. If you like the look but want a cushier feel underfoot, I recommend placing a rug pad underneath
  • The edges are bound, and after some time two of ours have started to unravel just a bit on a corner. It's very minor and not noticeable unless you're right on top of it. I can use some fabric glue to fix that if needed.
  • Since the rugs are light weight, I use rug grippers to ensure they don't slide around. On some I just use these sticky rug grippers for the corners. On high traffic areas I use this rug tape along the sides, just to ensure there's no tripping hazard:

It's not often that I find a household item that really holds up and stands the test of time (especially with numerous animals). That's sad, but just the way it is now unfortunately.

Loloi is a very well known established rug brand that also sells very high end rug options. I used the more expensive versions in client's homes nearly 20 years ago!

Overall these beauties are a favorite in our home, and I don't miss thick rugs at all. The ease, looks and durability make them a product I will go back to over and over.

  1. I have similar rugs from ruggable, and my number one complaint is how the vacuum gets stuck. My robot vac (eufy) has no trouble but I cannot clean them with our normal vac which means shaking them outside and throwing through washing machine. Can you really vacuum these without any issue, they don’t bunch up or get caught? Thanks!!
