Thoughtful Mother's Day Gift Ideas Your Mom Will LOVE!

May 06, 2026

Tons of Mother's Day gift ideas your Mom will LOVE!

I've gathered a bunch of Mother's Day gift ideas that I would love (I do own a lot of them 😂). I tried to focus on relaxation, crafty items and products that make us feel and look good.

As much as I love a good kitchen or cleaning gadget, I didn't want to include any on this gift idea list. Let's gift Mom something that makes her feel spoiled and special. :)

All of these would arrive by Mother's Day (at least in our area), so you have time to gather a beautiful gift for your mother or grandmother.

1. Fun pastimes:

If you can't tell, I'm constantly working on projects around the house. For the past year or so, I've been trying to get into some relaxing hobbies that allow me to SIT and RELAX. :)

I found this set of colorful glitter pens around the holidays, and absolutely LOVE them:

The quality is fantastic, and the 60 different colors are so pretty. (And GLITTER.) The set comes in this case organized by color. They even include a set of refills for every color.

I love using these for my note taking -- color coding is surprisingly fun. 😀

Our son needed a set of colored pencils for college, and I was so enamored with the set we bought for him, I got my own with a gift card after Christmas:

Isn't that beautiful? I had ridiculous amount of fun organizing these into this colored pencil case I found for them. These color beautifully, but are also lovely for journaling or writing in a planner.

I thought this beginner embroidery starter kit was so sweet! What a great idea for someone who wants to learn:

It comes with stamped patterns on the cloth, plus all of the hoops, threads and needles you need. I used to cross stitch a lot, and want to get back into that hobby. What a great gift idea!

I tried one of those diamond "painting" crafts a few months ago and it was SO incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. When I saw these floral diamond painting kit designs, I was smitten:

How lovely! They have so many pretty designs.

By the way, if you enjoy detailed crafts like this, you may find this light up magnifying lamp to be helpful. I use mine more often than I thought I would (it was a life saver with the diamond art!). The light is nice and bright and the magnifier is a great size.

Plus it's chargeable, so you can take it wherever you want.

2. Relaxation finds:

I LOVE ending my day with a warm, relaxing bath. I purchased this towel warmer for my husband and now I use it more than he does! It's definitely a luxury in the colder months.

After a long day of working on DIY projects, these two are my go-to's for bath time:
Dr. Teal's epsom and bubble bath

Dr. Teal's products are the best and so affordable. They have few different scents -- the almond is my absolute favorite, but the lavender is great right before bed. I enjoy both the bubble bath and epsom salts

The older I get, the more I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. This magnesium nighttime lotion has been a favorite of mine for years:

It absolutely makes a difference, I put it on my arms or legs every single night. I also make sure to pack it when we travel, I feel like it really does help my sleep.

Most nights before bed, I sit in a comfy chair in our bedroom with one of these neck massagers -- it's especially helpful if I've been operating my miter saw or nail gun all day.

The massager works for the neck, upper back and lower back. I even use it on my hands and arms occasionally. Not only does it help to relieve muscle tension, but is super relaxing as well!

3. Makeup favorites:

I know makeup is a highly personal choice and not usually a gifted item, but these favorites can work for almost anyone. (And most are very inexpensive!)

This e.l.f. poreless primer has been the first step of my makeup routine for years now:

It's so lightweight (feels like light lotion), is moisturizing and really works. I've tried so many primers over the years and this is the only one I've stuck with.

I've talked about this one before, but it's worth mentioning again. Another e.l.f. product I LOVE is their multi-stick for cheeks, eyes and lips
elf blush and lip

I use this nearly every single day and one small tube still lasts me nine months to a year. You need VERY little and all of the colors give a lovely glow. My favorite for summer is the glimmering guava (on the left), and luminous berry is my go-to in the cooler months.

These are great to keep in your purse, as they can be used on the eyelids and lips too!

When I found these Kur nail polishes by Londontown years ago, I ended up giving away the majority of my other nail polishes within weeks:

They carry a TON of colors, but my favorites give a natural wash of color on my nails and make them stronger and healthier.

The ridge filler creates a nice, smooth base. The pink and white nail concealers are my day-to-day picks because they just look so pretty on the nail. They stay on longer than any other nail polish I've tried before, and the pink and white look especially great in the summer months!

4. For your purse:

These are all items I've used for years that you'll always find in my purse. A few of these would make a lovely Mother's Day gift!

First up, this fabric zippered bag is my favorite (they have matching travel products as well) -- it's so roomy and easy to clean:

I love it for my smaller cosmetics and toiletries like lipstick and bandaids. :)

If you're looking for a moisturizing lip treatment, I highly recommend the Lanolips products. I discovered their lip balms years ago, and now use them every day. They are so thick but not greasy or sticky, and you can even it all over your body!

This gloss always makes my lips look healthier and fuller.

The travel sized poo-pouri spray is just nice to have...not sure I need to say more about that. :) We keep some on hand for guests in the house, but I like to have some on me when we're out and about.

5. Around the house:

These home finds are all great additions, starting with a couple of beautiful cookbooks I've recently purchased.

Do you follow Hannah Taylor on Instagram? She is such a breath of fresh air, and I love how much she enjoys cooking for her family. She released a lovely cookbook called Measure with Your Heart a few months ago, full of delicious southern staples:

I found this Shea McGee cookbook while out shopping this week -- the recipes were why I purchased, but the photos and presentation were absolutely beautiful as well:

I can't wait to make that salad! I love that the recipes in this book are organized by season -- what a great idea.

A friend recently mentioned how the little lamps around our house add to the charm of our home. Soft light on a counter or on a side table is such an easy way to cozy up your space.

With the rechargeable lamps that are out now, you can add a little ambience anywhere -- a kitchen table or on the bathroom vanity. My two favorites are this one with a real lamp shade (and light bulb!):

And this brass and milky glass cordless lamp I keep in our powder room:

Both have a LONG charge and look so good!

If you like some scent with your glow, this amber wax warmer is another favorite:

And we use our candle warmers almost daily:

No soot, and no worries about an unattended flame. These make such a great gift!

I've always loved gardening, but working in our vegetable and flower beds brings me so much joy the older I get.

I've been keeping track of every new plant in this adorable gardening logbook

It helps me keep track of how the newer plants fair, what does well in certain areas, etc.

And finally, something I use around our home (and in the car) every single day, my Simple Modern tumblers
Disney Simple Modern water tumbler

I haven't used a plastic water bottle in years! These tumblers come in endless adorable designs and actually keep my water COLD.

They don't have a ton of parts (my pet peeve, I hate all the moving parts that get gunked up) and I can throw all of it in the dishwasher.

I hope you enjoyed this list and found something for the mom in your life (or yourself!). I can personally vouch for the quality of most of them.
