Well HELLO! How the heck are ya?
I’m thrilled to announce a little…uhh, announcement. I’m so excited to be joining the True Value Blog Squad again for 2012!:
I’ve loved working with True Value and love my local TV so I’m psyched to get going again this year!
I’ve mentioned my True Value’s AWESOMESAUCE spray paint aisle:
Stop your drooling, I know.
And the fantastic hardware aisle:
Both rock my socks off. :)
This year I’m hoping to take advantage of the lumberyard a bit more (yes, they have a lumberyard – told you it’s awesome).
Last summer my Dad and I made my potting bench:
And I hope to build some more projects this year too. I’ve already got a few in mind. Did you doubt it? :)
I feel. in. love. with Kristin’s live edge table when I saw it:

Isn’t that gorgeous? SO want to make on of my own.
Ana White posted this “X” console table a while back and I couldn’t believe my luck:

Kid you not, I had been planning on building one for months. And now I know how. ;)
I’ve also been planning on creating some in wall storage in our bathroom for awhile too, like this one:
(source)
I think I can do it – we’ll see how it turns out.
And the biggie – I really hope I can get started on the mud room that will be a MUD ROOM and not a laundry room. Swoon:

Be still my heart. This will not be how ours looks but I can dream, right?
So I hope to show you how to build more things than I have in the past, with some easier projects mixed in. AND a little somethin’ for you all thrown in here and there. :)
Can’t wait to get started -- I know the first project I’m working on! Can’t wait to show you…if it turns out. (Probably even if it doesn’t.)
Have a GREAT weekend!! Will you be celebrating the Fourth early? I LOVE the Fourth of July!
“I was one of the bloggers selected by True Value to work on the DIY Squad. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program as well as my writing about my experience. I have also been compensated for the materials needed for my DIY project. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.”
Fun! Can't wait to see what you do :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you end up creating and I especially can't wait to see your new and improved mud room!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! That would be a dream come true to be selected as part of their blog squad! I swear, you are my bloggy hero!! And, yes, I fell in love with the live edge table too when I saw it! It is a knockout!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing True Value store there!!! I wish ours looked like that. It would be so fun just to walk around that place. My friends think I'm a little strange when I tell them my heart starts pounding a little when I go into Home Improvements Stores! So many possibilities....
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you have come up with next.

Wow We Wow We! Where do you live?! I want a True Value store like that! I'd love to have a smaller store to go to where they kinda know me!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to read about the adventures of the blog squad! And I'm ready to build stuff too so I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Congratulations - and I'm having a little hardware store envy here in suburban St. Louis. Our True Value was nudged out by a big box home improvement center 10 years ago. Looking forward to your projects this year.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that mudroom is fabulous! Someday, someday...a girl can dream, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat table is truly incredible!!! Can't wait to see all the ways you'll continue to inspire your readers :)
ReplyDeleteTrue Value looks amazing. I don't think I have one of those where I live. :(
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making the Blog Squad!
Great projects for a very savvy lady! Look forward to learning as you post. I have 2 True Value fairly close to me :) (and one is part of an incredible plant nursery...love) Roaming around their aisles is a favorite "hobby" and they always seem to have what I need! Glad you're on the DIY Squad again!
ReplyDeleteYay you -- can't wait to see all the greatness you create from TV!
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see your creations. And that mud room is dreamy! I want!
ReplyDeleteSuper exciting! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI love the "X" table. I am jealous of your skills and power tools, but look forward to some projects that I can do too!
Never in all my life have I seen that many spray paints in one place! I might be making a field trip to YOUR True Value!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I loooove those drawer pulls! Just reminds me how badly I need to re-do my bedroom dressers!
Happy Almost 4th of July!
How awesome! I can't wait to see your projects that you come up with! And that looks like an amazing store!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's an amazing True Value! Ours is quaint... and by that I mean that it's 20 years out of date, difficult to navigate, and rarely has anything inspiring.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that mud room? I am seriously thinking about knocking down walls in my house now, just to build something like that. WOWIE!
I wish I had time to do this sort of stuff
ReplyDeleteI love that DIY table! Great post and can't wait to see more of your finished projects! So much inspiration here, thank you!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous live edge table is amazing. Can't wait to see everything!
ReplyDeleteI love that name blog squad and fortunately, we have a true value 5 min. from our house :) Congrats and looking forward to seeing what you got coming down the line :)
ReplyDeleteA synthetic plastic cover for my long gone Toyota Camry, several dog toys, floor mats, and a complete tool box with all the trimmings. But can't seem to find good quality lighting and bathroom fixtures. Memories of True Value.
ReplyDeleteJust drooling here. Till the next visit, maybe
That live edge table is beautiful! I can't wait to see how yours turns out.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think those in-wall storage cabinets in the bathroom could look really nice if the back panels were painted. Just a thought!
Hi, I know this may sound like a silly question BUT!!! I would like to ask how to acually use a paint brush when painting furniture. Not so much the size but how to use it and applying the paint. I don't think that I am doing it right. When I apply the paint I seem to have to apply alot of paint and then it seems really thick, if I use a little it is very dry and doesn't really cover the furniture so I keep adding more. I hope you understand my question and can give me some advise.
ReplyDeleteThank you
