I have seen SO many creative, inexpensive, beautiful Christmas decorating ideas around blogland recently and just had to share them with you! I love them all!!
Go check these ladies out for more info on all of these goodies. (I linked to the post where these can be found.)
Using ribbon to decorate for the holidays from Amanda @ Imperfectly Beautiful:
You could use a cookie tray you already have for these!
And Ashley @ Domestic Fashionista:
Ummm... can you say...EASY. CHEAP. (Sorry.) And FAST??
Oh how I love Ballard. (Salivate...) This looks amazing and she did it for a fraction of the price of the Ballard version. I dare you to tell which one's which! I'm SO doing this next year.
Christmas Silhouette from Nikki @ Project Domestic Bliss:

Gingerbread cookie tray from Debbie @ Ribbonwood Cottage:

Don't have any gingerbread men? Make the gingerbread "cookies" found at Buzzings of a Queen Bee:
All you need is powdered cinnamon, applesauce and glue!

Would you believe this is an actual skirt -- a ladies skirt? She went to a thrift store and found it. It's stunning! Speaking of tree skirts...I made my own with fabric from Joann's:
I use a few yards of a red faux silk and then top it with a red organza fabric. I love that it's so fluffy. And I can easily throw it in the wash if needed.
For cheap artwork Fawn e-mailed me this idea:

She covered canvases with wrapping paper. Brilliant! You could do this with just about ANYTHING -- artwork you already have, frames, etc. I actually have wrapping paper I bought just to do this in my home, but I'm not sure if I'll tackle it this year or not. I have my own spin in mind...we'll see!
Tree skirt from Leigh @ Tales of Bloggeritaville:

Best part -- it's a fraction of the cost of a "real" skirt.
I love your blog! I am always looking for great things that I can do to make my house look great without having to pay a fortune. So, thank you for all the wonderful ideas!
ReplyDeleteSarah, These are some great ideas. I really need to start a file of ideas for next year. Thanks for posting some of your favorites.

Oh, I am so excited to be featured on your blog! How fun! I love all the other ideas you showed, too, especially anything that copies Ballard Designs...luckily a lot of their stuff is easy to copy, right? :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

i enjoyed your page!
Love them all. I too love the real skirt used as a tree skirt. I use white tool for my tree skirt. Super cheap and it gives a magical feel with all the lights. Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how expensive tree skirts have gotten! I have one "real" one, then the rest are like yours...just fabric. Plus, if you ever change your mind, you can use that fabric for something else!
ReplyDeleteI saw somewhere (blog? magazine?) using winter scarves for a tree skirt. Cute!
These are all great ideas...especially love the wrapped frames! Hmmm, may have to do that next year!
ReplyDeleteI must get my tree a real "skirt". That is THE BEST idea I've seen yet ... love it! Thanks for the shout out Sarah...you are a sweetheart! Keep all those super fab ideas coming our way.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas ~ Amanda
Great ideas. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteBut I REALLY like the word "cheap" esp. when paired with "fast & easy"! Thanks for the great ideas!~Sherri
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ideas, but you forgot one. What about lights inside a vase? You can't get any more inexpensive then a vase you already have (even a colored vase) and then some lights (colored or not). It just gives the room a really nice "Christmasy" look.
ReplyDeleteEverything is just adorable- I wish I had found this blog sooner! Love love thos ornaments!
ReplyDeleteoh wow! I love all of those ideas! I would like a nice little tree like the one shown on my front porch.
ReplyDeleteBoy I have been so out of the loop for quite awhile now. I can't believe all the amazing things I've missed on everyone's Sites. The Holidays and "real life" has gotten the best of me. But I had LOTS of fun catching up on yours. Your house is CRAZY GORGEOUS!!! What a treat to go through all the photos. Except...the one with the tree lying horizontal on your carpet with all that water soaked in. : ( Hope you've recovered since that one.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I'm just loving getting to tour other peoples decorations! Thanks for sharing with the rest of us :)
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all these wonderful ideas. I love the ornament, the tree "skirt". Well, I love them all!!
Wish we had another month till Christmas now so i could make some of these.
I so look forward to your blog now that i have found you.
Barbara Jean
PS How can i put links on my blog to other blogs, like yours?
I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for a cute sparkly skirt to use for our tree!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tips!!
Also, thanks for adding my link, you're so sweet!

I love your site. Thanks for sharing all your useful information.
ReplyDeleteHi! I absolutely love all of your ideas and wish I could borrow your brain for a while! I am in college so it is hard for me to buy supplies often, but Goodwill is probably the best place ever invented! Everyone picks on me because I have so much random stuff but they don't realize I have exactly what I need when I'm not even sure what I need!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for all of the great ideas, pictures, and laughs (ps i love your kitties!)
