My moody office Christmas tour and our Santa-themed entryway!
The Christmas decor tour continues with a look at my recently-updated home office as well as our foyer.
Earlier this year I finally finished up a year (or more?) long makeover in my office. The basics like the DIY built in bookcases were done years ago, but I wanted to make the room into a cozier and moodier space.
It turned out so beautifully and is definitely a "vibe" as the kids say. This room is so very soothing and relaxing to work in.
Last Christmas I hung a couple wreaths and put up a small tree in my office, but this year I wanted to do a little bit more. I spend a lot of time in this room, so I wanted to make it festive!
This small faux tree was in a boring pot that I didn't love, so I decided to pull it out of the planter it came in and plopped it into a basket I had:
The base for the tree was much smaller, so I use plastic shopping bags or packing paper to fill it and raise the tree up.

Last year these wreaths got mini makeovers with some pine cone picks and this camel colored velvet ribbon:
Switching out frames with inexpensive printable art is such an easy way to add holiday touches! That Christmas library art is perfect in here.
This Santa boot planter is the cutest! I filled it with Norfolk pine stems and a few berries:
Instead of completely switching all of your decor for the holidays, you can add a few touches like faux florals or ornaments like in my brass bowl by the wreath:
I stuffed that bowl full of grocery bags as well, so I only needed a few ornaments to make it look full.
This gold bamboo mirror is one of my favorite Facebook marketplace finds!:
I swear it's clean -- I can't seem to get that haziness off of it. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear!
This gorgeous cedar Christmas tree is SO lovely and was a great price! It looks like it's out of stock online, but your local store may have it:
I had to squish it into this corner and move some furniture, but it was totally worth it to look at this beauty as I work everyday!
The tree is decorated with gold and brown ornaments, most with a nature theme. The little felt birds (from Hobby Lobby) clip on to the branches:
I had plenty of extra ribbon, so I tied them onto some branches. I'll leave those on when we take it apart after the season.
The other side of the room has a gallery wall of framed (free!) Audubon bird prints that I didn't want to change out, so I taped some dangling bells from a few of them:
Onto the foyer!
Our entryway looks a little different than last year -- for years we had a table from World Market along the long wall. Last year I went with a "Believe in Santa" theme that was so FUN to put together:
But earlier this year, I replaced that table with a vintage dresser we had in a different room.
This set up with a dresser in the foyer has made me so happy! I LOVE this piece here -- it feels so collected and gives this space much needed character:
The bonus is that I have a small space to decorate instead of two long ones. 😂
I kept the Santa theme going with the woven sleigh (filled with greenery and bells) and a carved Santa figurine I found on FB marketplace years back:
This adorable light up train isn't just cute...it's also a diffuser. My whole family loves it!:
This train diffuser comes with a remote and timer. You can set it to constantly puff, or release slower, steady rings from the smokestack.
Not only is it SUPER cute, but it works really well and the water lasts a really long time. I think we'll find a spot to keep this out year-round.
This year I decorated the door frame into our little vestibule off the foyer:
At first I added it just to look pretty, but then I realized it would make a great Christmas card display. I use these small wood clothespins to attach the cards. (We had those, but any clip would do.) So fun!
I love walking up from the basement and seeing this garland framing the view:
My latest addition to our entryway was just a few days ago. I found this sweet "Let it snow" art on FB for $12 and fell. in. love with it.
The art and colors are so nostalgic to me -- it looks like something my Mom would have displayed back in the 90's:
It goes great with the blue and white pinstriped wallpaper I hung years ago:
It's a little small for this spot, but I don't care! It makes me smile every time I walk by. :)
These two rooms are the first our guests see when they come in the front door, so I wanted them to feel festive but not overwhelming. I hope you enjoyed the tour!
