So the Stink Eye Sister strikes again. She walked by me tonight as I wrapped lights around some greenery and gave me the Eye:
"More greenery?" (Stink eye.)
Whatever Sister.
Yes, more greenery. Shut it.
I wanted to show you the various places I put the stuff... It really is such an inexpensive way to make your home pretty and just plain loverly this time of year.
**Edited to add -- the
Nesting Place blog is having a party about just this! Other people love it like me! Go take a look! (It's gonna take me hours to get through all of them.)
You've seen the mantel:

The dining room:
But here's some more. I put it on furniture:

On top of cabinets:

Hanging from various places:

Throw some in a window sill:
Behind furniture:

Stairs: (When I complain I don't have pretty railings to wrap my greenery around, Hubby reminds me that
he wanted the railings, not walls. Yeah yeah. Whateva.)

Around doors:
And more...I'll show you our bedroom soon. I have a little project I want to finish in there first. I think that's it otherwise...I think. Try it in your home. Wrap some lights around it or throw some ornaments in, and just stick it places. It works. Swear.

ReplyDeleteIsn't the Nester's party just too much garland goodness to fit into just one day? It's going to take me forever, too.
I want to make a garland so badly...all I have is a string of beads - lame.
-Nat :)
I love all the greenery, especially around the doorway. Where did you get that garland? It's very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI hope you label them all so that you know where their proper home is for next year. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd what's with "I'll show you our bedroom soon. I have a little project I want to finish in there first"...do you think your husband enjoys you calling him a project?? {wink wink} Now when you post it I'll be scared to look ;)

ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I love it with lights!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! Love it all. It really makes it cozy and festive when you have all that fun greenery and lights.
ReplyDeleteHow do you have time for all of that decorating? Will you come decorate my home?
ReplyDeleteSoooooooo pretty and festive. You've given me some great ideas on where to stash the green stuff. And P.S. You totally crack me up. You're hilarious! :o)
ReplyDeleteOkay you seriously are so creative. I am loving in the windows and over the pony wall upstairs!
ReplyDeleteWOW! WOW! WOW! Your decorations are AMAZING! I want to come to your house! SO BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too much greenery!
WOW! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!! I just love garland, but it doesn't always love me. Do you have battery operated lights or did you just do a great job of hiding the cords for the stairs and around the door. They never put outlets near where I want to decorate and I hate having an ugly extension cord hanging out from my beautiful garland. Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI love your taste! Wow. I mean, WOW!! How do you do it?! You dining cabinet looks phenomenal. Also, I'm still head-over-heals for your mantel garland. I have gotta make me one.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love, the dinning room.
ReplyDeletei love the greenery, I was just telling my friend that I was going to pick up lighted garland for next year if I find some on sale. Now that I have my mantle just the way I want it, and my tree just so, I now know exactly what I need in the house and that is lighted garland. I need some for the top of the mirror on the fireplace, some going up the stairs, around the front door and on the piano! I like the idea or putting it up in the kitchen too. LOL Love your ideas you home is so warm and beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou weren't kidding when you said yyou like garland! It looks GORG!
ReplyDeleteWould it be possible for you to adopt me? I don't take up much space. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't do that, can I come and intern at your house? I need some one on one tutoring because I could really just sit here all day and stare at your page. Your ideas are wonderful. Really really wonderful.
Just as there is never too much sparkle, there is never too much greenery!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks gorgous!
(it's killing me to not have a "real" computer right now and I can't share any new pictures on my blog. AAAAAck! It's the holidays, fer cryin' out loud!)
